Top 5 Pet-Friendly Hotels and Places to Stay in Dublin: Our Hotel, Hostel, and AirBnB Recommendations

Visiting Dublin with my dog Sheila was at the top of my list after spending time in the UK. Prior to leaving London, we did some extensive research on pet-friendly hotels, hostels and AirBnbs to get a different flavor of Dublin for the time that we were there. While we love AirBnb life, we also wanted to explore different hotel options, and a fun night in one of the most well known pet-friendly hostels in the area. Here’s my guide for our experience in each location.

The staff at Generator Dublin were very friendly and provided us with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. From spacious rooms to communal areas where Sheila could mingle with other furry guests, and travelers of all ages, this hostel made us feel right at home for the night we were there.

2. The Morgan Hotel: Pet-Friendly Hotel in Dublin

When it comes to pet-friendly luxury, The Morgan Hotel is where it’s at. Nestled in the heart of the city, this stylish boutique hotel welcomes furry friends with open arms. From the moment we arrived after a long day of exploring, Sheila and I felt pampered by the attentive staff who provided us with a cozy pet bed, food bowls, and even a selection of treats.

The Morgan Hotel’s central location also allowed us to explore Dublin’s popular attractions, such as Temple Bar and Grafton Street. The night we stayed at the Morgan Hotel, we enjoyed a Guinness at Temple Bar, a must see at this pet-friendly hotel in Dublin.

3. Holiday Inn Express Dublin City: Pet-Friendly Hotel in Dublin

The Holiday In Express Dublin provided a more American feeling experience. Located near the city center, this pet-friendly hotel offers modern rooms and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Sheila and I appreciated the spacious accommodations that allowed us to relax slightly on the outskirts of the city, after a long day sightseeing and at the dog-friendly parks.

4. Uppercross House Hotel: Pet-Friendly Hotel in Dublin

For those a rustic, charming experience, Uppercross House Hotel is the perfect choice. This family-run hotel, situated in the heart of Rathmines, a historic suburb on the southside of Dublin.

5. Dublin AirBnb Rentals: Pet-Friendly Homey Accommodations

If you prefer a more personalized experience or are looking for extended stays that feel more like home, AirBnb might be your best bet. Sheila and I chose to stay in the southern end of Dublin for our couple of nights using AirBnb to check out Marlay Park and Rathfarmham Castle Park.

Our AirBnb hosts were lovely and spent plenty of time loving on Sheila. My host even offered to watch Sheila one afternoon while I went off and did a non-dog friendly tour of the Wicklow Mountains.
